Nex [Swe]

Nex (Swe) - Zero
Full-length, Next Horizon RecordsJuly 23rd, 2007
NEX was formed in January 2007 as a result of utter chaos. The same day, the composition and recording of the album "Zero" started. Six tracks were recorded, clocking in at around 47 minutes. The band does futile attempts to recreate the old magic of early-ish My Dying Bride, Katatonia, Candlemass, Anathema, and so on, into a sacred mish-mash that seems to - against all odds - actually work.

Raakku [Fin]

Final form of Raakku was founded by the the time snow was melting in Finland in spring of 2006. Raakku began to produce melancholic metal with a strong atmosphere. Along the year many songs emerged, two of which ended up on a 2-song EP “Seed Divine”, recorded in June 2006. Raakku has shared stage with names like Cryhavoc, Codeon, Dismay, Fall of The Leafe, Smoke Society, Endomorphism, Kauna, Sonic Mind and End of You - just to name a few. What the future holds is still unclear but it has an essence of mist-drenched moors and moonlit groves.

The Spektrum [Prt]

The Spektrum was formed near October 2005, by a group of friends, with metal influences. The initial members were Ricardo, as vocalist, David, guitarrist, Emanuel, bass, Febra, Guitar, and Luciano, in drums. Later, January of 2006, Samuel entered as keyboarder. May 2006, the band decides to move to a different style, we wanted a more melodic and heavy sound. Samuel moved into drums, Luciano left the band, and Febra starts playing both Guitar and Keys. Musics from Luciano time were all erased, and step by step, we started working on new stuff. At the end of July, 2006, the band decides to go into studio to record a demo cd, intituled “Marching Through the Darkness”, that came up ready in October. After a few concerts and lots of hard work, the band is getting, each day, more and more “claw”.

Aspen Woods [UK]

New World Disorder 2008

Debut album from new UK stratosphere rockers Aspen Woods (who shares a member with the legendary SECRET SHINE!). The woods recorded as much of the album as possible live using traditional recording techniques, to capture the guts and spirit of their live shows much the same way as the bands influences would have done so in the hazy 60s and 70s. "As with the works of Spiritualized there is a sense of spiritual yearning within the epic soundscapes that stops the album becoming merely an exercise in sonic dexterity."

Bubblegum Lemonade

Bubblegum Lemonade is a 60’s influenced 12-string Indie-Pop affair based in Glasgow, Scotland. A fondness of the Byrds and the Mary Chain comes across on such songs as ’The Tomorrow People’ and ’Unsafe At Any Speed’. Laz from Bubblegum Lemonade also moonlights with Strawberry Whiplash.

The band name is inspired by Mama Cass Elliot’s 1969 solo album ’Bubblegum, Lemonade & Something for Mama’.
